German Africa Award 2008 (INVITATION)

The prestigious German Africa Award 2008 goes to the Journalist and MEdia-Entrepreneur Trevor Ncube from Zimbabwe.

Trevor Ncube is the owner and Publisher of the last two independent newspapers in Zimbabwe: "The Standard" and "Zimbabwe Independent". He also owns and publishes the internationally well-known South African weekly newspaper "Mail&Guardian".

Trevor Ncube ist one of Africa's most important independent journalists and a courageous fighter for press freedom, human rights and democracy in Zimbabwe, South Africa and the whole continent.

INVITATION:
The German Africa Award will be presendet by the President of the Europoean Parliament, Prof. Dr. Hans-Gert Pöttering, on Friday, October 17, 2008, in Hamburg.
